A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION RECIPROCATING ACTION TRANSITIONAL REVOLVER, MODEL 'LANG'S PATENT', serial no. 715,
circa 1850, with sighted octagonal 6in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'C. PIPER, CAMBRIDGE', open wedge frame, plain six-shot reciprocating cylinder with forward gas-seal, border and scroll engraved boxlock action with offset central long-spurred hammer and guarded single-action trigger, finely chequered walnut bag-shaped butt, (exposed iron surfaces frosted), together with a possibly associated oak storage case compartmented and lined in dark green baize for this revolver and containing a period mahogany cleaning rod, pewter oil bottle and tin of 'Joyce' caps as well as a reproduction brass mould, powder flask and turn-screw
